In case you missed it, there was a royal wedding today, October 12. Princess Eugenie married her beau Jack Brooksbank during a lovely ceremony in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
And while both bride and groom looked fab, any royal wedding means people are going to looking at the guests just as much as the couple getting married.
One such person to turn many heads was, of course, Meghan Markle. Having had her own royal wedding earlier this year, the new addition to the family is now a frontrunner for ‘what are they up to’ status.
So what is she up to? Well she’s not acting anymore, that’s for sure. Instead, she’s attending royal engagements, closing doors and generally doing the royal biz.
Newlyweds such as Harry and Meghan, however, are prone to interrogation not just from family members but many, many prying eyes. More specifically, people want to know when they’re going to pop out a few sprogs like Harry’s older brother William, who’s already had three little nippers with wife Kate Middleton.
Some eagle-eyed viewers of today’s wedding think we could be seeing a mini Harry or Meghan running about quite soon, though, as they believe Meghan’s fashion choice speaks volumes when it comes to baby bumps.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote:
I stayed up just to see what Meghan Markle is wearing and if she looks pregnant. She’s wore a long blue jacket that she didn’t take off in the Church. Could she be hiding something?
Another said:
I have a feeling that Meghan is pregnant…she’s glowing and her face looks fuller to me.. can’t wait for them to announce it
While a third wrote:
I reckon Meghan might be pregnant! It’s something about the way the coat is buttoned up…
Is Meggo preggo? Well, it wouldn’t be surprising really, but they’re not going to upstage Eugenie on her big day by announcing it, are they.
The other talking point around today’s wedding, other than, y’know, the wedding itself, was the BBC‘s subtle subtitle slip up.
Viewers picked up on some interesting subtitling that was going on during the ceremony. Though spelling mistakes aren’t exactly uncommon on subtitles (just think how fast those guys have to type to keep up!) this one was particularly bad.
Mishearing, mistaking, mistyping or simply being mischievous, as the commentator narrated the wedding, the subtitles didn’t quite reflect what they were saying.
Instead, the caption appeared:
not sure… What a beautiful breasts. Absolutely fitting her
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were page boy and bridesmaid, while Eugenie’s older sister, Princess Beatrice, read a passage from The Great Gatsby, which the bride chose because it ‘immediately reminded’ her of her new husband Jack.
Although some on Twitter questioned the choice:
Princess Eugenie is currently ninth in line to the throne, after her older sister. She is the daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson. Eugenie is the sixth grandchild of the Queen and Prince Philip. Should Meghan and Harry have a royal baby, Eugenie will get bumped down the line further.
And that’s no news to receive on your wedding day.
