@chiefbrody1984/TwitterWho here remembers those classic Biff, Chip and Kipper books kids read in primary school? One adult has pointed out something quite strange in the background of one tale.
Ed Brody noticed what he described as ‘dubious scenes’ in one of the books before pointing it out on Twitter.
The illustrations in the book show character, Wilma, playing by a river – but it’s a little something taking place in the bushes behind that has people talking.

Three men, previously visible and talking quite innocently on one page seemingly disappear behind a bush.
*Turns page*
A elderly lady arrives, looks into the bush and her hat and glasses fall off with a shocked expression on her face. What is that about?
Well, plenty of people took to Twitter to comment on the situation with one describing it as a ‘cheeky bit of cottaging’.

Jees, what's going on behind the bushes? What is the message here?

My daughter gets those books too. They're full of "Mum got wet" and "Dad made mum very wet. Mum was cross" ????

Omg. I hand out these books on a daily basis and never noticed. I will be looking more closely from now on ???

I was taught to read with the Biff and Chip books. Knowing the artist snuck these little gems into them only gives me a deeper appreciation.

Hilariously, it seems this is not a one-off. People were quick to point out other scenes in the Biff, Chip and Kipper books, as well as other children’s tales.
Here’s a look at some examples:

That series of books had an illustrator who like to put stuff like that in them. I found this one a long time ago… See it? pic.twitter.com/ocoSDKk12M

Most likely an intentional bit of something for the adults reading to their children, methinks.
