Smuggling drugs into prison is one thing, using a pigeon to do your dirty work, is a whole other thing altogether.
The result – the poor little fella pictured, has now been arrested.
Al-Rai newspaperThe homing pigeon in the pictures, has been caught smuggling more than 170 ecstasy pills in a homemade ‘backpack’ after police tracked its progress across the border of two countries, reports the Mirror.
Police stopped the bird, with said sack strapped to its back, when it was flying between Iraq and Kuwait.
Carrier pigeons are apparently being used more and more in this region as a rather unique drug smuggling technique.
GettyLocal media in the area reported that the pigeon was captured near Kuwait’s customs department – oh how convenient.
Once arrested, pictures of the bird showed the backpack opened revealing dozens of white pills, while he stood perched on a desk inside the government building.
Strangely enough, this isn’t the first case of a pigeon being seized for its part in illegal activity.
