This is the terrifying moment a plane’s engine caught fire just after take off.
Filmed by a passenger from inside the plane, the footage shows sparks flying and flames gradually getting bigger as the plane moves forward.
Footage shows flames bursting from the left side of the Red Wings jet which was due to land in Sochi, Russia earlier this month.
Thankfully, all 202 people on board were safely evacuated via emergency slides when the plane landed at Ufa airport.
You can watch it here:
The person who filmed the scary footage said:
I was a passenger on flight 808 from Ufa to Sochi on Wednesday morning.
The flames started rising of the plane’s wing. We were shocked since the fire was getting bigger with every second.
There was no other option apart from coming back to the airport of Ufa. By the time we landed, the wing was nearly melted.
The plane was travelling to Sochi, Russia’s main summer seaside resort, on the Black Sea.
Psychologists and airline representatives are reported to be working with the shocked passengers after the harrowing ordeal, while the plane is undergoing tests to determine what caused the fire.
Earlier this month, rapper Post Malone and his entourage also had to undergo an emergency landing, after their private jet’s tyres blew off while the plane was ascending.
The American musician was travelling from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, heading for London, UK.
The pilot was forced to circle back around and make an emergency landing at Stewart International Airport in New York, according to TMZ.
A source told the site, air traffic control informed the pilot to continue the flight to Massachusetts in order to burn more fuel for a safer potential crash landing.
The plane allegedly had 3,700 gallons of fuel to burn.
Post Malone tweeted his thanks to his fans who were sending him well wishes throughout the ordeal – although he had another response for the people who weren’t so kind…
The 23-year-old tweeted:
i landed guys. thank you for your prayers. can’t believe how many people wished death on me on this website. f*ck you. but not today. [sic]
After landing, the obviously relieved rapper said:
I need a beer, and some wine. At the same time mixed together.
He added how he already had a fear of flying, and implied the crew on the plane had done a great job in getting everyone on the ground safely.
He said:
I hate flying in general. I don’t even know what to say, I’m shook. There’s one hell of a team on that aircraft and we’re here, we’re here on earth.
The rapper was heading to the UK ahead of his performances at Reading and Leeds Festival this upcoming bank holiday weekend.
Let’s hope he gets there safely.
