Prince Harry ‘Tells Off’ Member Of Crowd For Giving Meghan Markle Flowers

By :

Prince Harry jokingly told off a member of the crowd for giving a big bunch of flowers to Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on their first tour outside of the UK and Ireland, which will see them visit Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga over 16 days.

After arriving in Sydney this week the couple were met by hundreds of adoring fans at their various engagements. The pair were at Taronga Zoo when one member of the crowd gave Meghan an impressive bouquet of flowers.

Check out Prince Harry’s reaction here:

The Royal jokingly implied the generous member of the public was trying to steal his wife away by wooing her with the floral gift.

Approaching them, he said:

You can’t give flowers that big to my wife! What’s that all about!

I don’t think he had any reason to be worried, honestly. The flowers might have been nice, but Harry is a real life Prince. I think it’d be hard to turn Meghan’s head.

The crowd laughed at Harry’s accusation – but were probably also secretly panicking in case they’d angered him. Meghan came over to greet the fans and thank whoever had given her the flowers.

Luckily she didn’t offer to run away with them!

Prince Harry later introduced his wife to his ‘favourite Aussie’, 98-year-old Daphne Dunne. Harry has met and had lengthy chats with Daphne during both his 2015 and 2017 trips to Australia.

Spotting her in the crowd, he said:

I was looking for you earlier and hoped you’d be here, it’s so good to see you again.

Meghan met Daphne and the woman congratulated the couple on the news of their pregnancy.

She said, as reported by the Mirror:

It was lovely to meet the Duchess Meghan. Harry is a wonderful man and I’m so happy he had found happiness, they both deserved the absolute world together.

He looks very happy. I am over the moon for him. She is a wonderful girl.

I congratulated them on their baby and said I wished them all the happiness they deserve.

Meghan and Harry announced their pregnancy to the public yesterday (October 15), via a statement by Kensington Palace.

It read:

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.

The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted for the couple and were able to congratulate them on Friday at the wedding in person.

Any other fans meeting the royal couple on their tour will have to be wary of Harry when giving gifts to Meghan!
