A single mother who was let down by a babysitter has been wowed by the kindness of her college professor.
Monica Romero was forced to take her two children to class at the University of Louisville after her childcare plans fell through at the last minute, less than ideal preparation for an exam.
Monica set her kids up outside the exam room with a tablet for entertainment but knew it would not likely distract Marcus, four, and his sister Mikayla, five, for long.
She told Buzzfeed that Marcus began to bang on the door to get her attention just moments into the test. So she stepped out of the classroom followed by her professor.
Romero feared she was about to be asked to leave, but instead Dr. Daniel Krebs made a very kind offer.
Romero recalled:
Dr. Krebs said, ‘Don’t worry. Go take your test. I’ve got them.'”
Classmate Victoria Henry captured his heartwarming efforts on camera and shared them with the world.

But Krebs insists that his actions were no big deal.
He told ABC:
A person like Monica, she’s a non-commissioned officer going to school, she’s a mom of two kids. I mean that’s the kind of thing that’s really impressive.
Me handling her kids for 40, 45 minutes, that’s not impressive.”
He did concede that childcare was not exactly second nature to him, adding:
The little boy knew the names of the [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles] and he’s yelling out these Italian names. I didn’t know who he was talking about. And the girl climbed on my shoulders and pulled my hair. But, apparently, I was so distracted that I didn’t know people were taking photos of me.”
What a guy.
