This is the heartwarming moment a rugby player proposed to his boyfriend during last weekend’s Pride parade.
Fernando Ferreria took the annual march in celebration of LGBT rights and used it as a platform for one the biggest gestures imaginable.
Parading through the streets of London with the rest of he Kings Cross Steelers, the first ever gay-inclusive rugby club, Fernando and the boys stop and set themselves up for some type of line-out.
Before long, he steps up to his boyfriend Greg Woodford, watching intently on the sidelines.
The crowd goes wild as he drops to one knee and asks Greg for his hand in marriage.
Greg wells up and accepts, embracing Fernando. His teammates eventually hoist the pair up on their shoulders as they are given cups of champagne.
One friend wrote of the scene:
I bawled my eyes out watching this Greg! Congratulations I’m so so happy for you.
Up to 26,000 people attending London pride this year, the biggest turnout in its 45-year history.
