Simple Hack To Get Creases Out Of Trainers Goes Viral

By :

Let’s face it, trainers are a necessity. Old or new, smart or casual, jazzy or plain – they have a use for pretty much anything.

I’ll be honest with you, I reckon I’d feel pretty lost without my trainers. Which is why I’m always so gutted when my favourite pair get a bit run down or look slightly worse for wear.

Whether they’ve become discoloured, have scuff marks all over them, or have creases everywhere, you just know it’s never a good look.

Don’t worry though, because a new life hack which tells you how to get creases out of your trainers has gone viral on social media basically solving all our problems.

The hack means we can now restore our old trainers to their former glory without having to splash out on a (ridiculously expensive) new pair. Because who doesn’t love a bit of DIY?

And it’s so simple! All you’ll need to get started is some socks or old clothes, a small towel or cloth, an iron, and hot water. Oh, and your trainers – obviously.

Twitter user Shantel Dé Bonsu shared her wisdom with her 2.3K followers earlier in the week, posting before and after pictures which quite frankly make me want to transform all of my trainers ASAP.

Take a look below:

The first step, Shantel explained, is to stuff the trainer with the socks/old clothes to the point where you can’t see the creases anymore. Basically, to the point where you press the top of the trainer and it doesn’t move.

Secondly, you need to wet the small towel or cloth with hot water, before squeezing the water out so it’s damp. After you’ve done that, you just need to place the towel or cloth on top of the crease.

Lastly, Shantel explains:

Iron the towel or cloth with VIM but be sure to keep lifting the iron up or you’ll burn your shoe! Depending how bad the crease is determines the time in which it will take to get rid of the crease!

And voila! You’re sorted.

The tweet quickly went viral, attracting 344K likes and 130K retweets in just a few days – proving that we’re all absolutely clueless and need a hella lot of guidance in life. Okay, well, maybe just in trainers.

So, there you have it. If you’ll just excuse me while I go try it out for myself, although knowing me I’ll probably just end up burning my trainers with the iron or something.

Worth a try though, right?
