Singer Dies After Being Electrocuted On Stage At Festival

An up and coming singer has died while performing on stage at a festival in Europe.

The French singer, Barbara Weldens, was on stage for the Festival Léo Ferré in the Church of the Cordeliers in the village of Goudron in the Lot region in south-west France.

Despite numerous reports stating the 35-year-old suffered an apparent cardiac arrest, the cause of death is still unclear.

The French newspaper, La Depeche, claims that Barbara, who sung barefoot, may have touched an electric device that was live on stage, and was electrocuted.

According to the Metro, they also reported that her death ‘provoked a very lively emotion among the spectators’.

Police have started an investigation to ‘search for the causes of the death’ and it’s believed they will analyse any images and videos taken on the night to help with their inquires.

On her last post on Facebook, fans of the singer have started to pay their tributes.

The festival was subsequently cancelled and organisers have paid tribute to Barbara saying:

A radiant woman, full of energy and talent, and of course, we think of all her family and her loved ones.

Barbra’s debut album ‘Le Grand H De L’homme‘, was released in February just this year.
