Teen Pushed Friend Off 60ft Bridge Because She Was Too Scared To Jump

By :

Unbelievable footage shows a teenage girl being pushed from a 60 foot bridge after she told her friends she was too scared to jump.

The 16-year-old girl was at Moulton Falls, over the Lewis River in Washington on Tuesday (August 7), standing on the edge of a bridge with her friends gathered behind her.

The girl had presumably been planning to jump, and her friends started to count down from three. But the teenager seemed to change her mind, and told her friends she was too scared.

In the video, the girl says ‘no’ twice when her friends tell her to go, but they didn’t listen to her.

A boy says ‘ready?’, but before she could respond, another female could be seen leaning over the railing of the bridge and shoving the teenager forwards, causing her to fall 60 feet from the bridge.

The rest of the group gasped, screamed and shouted in shock before the 16-year-old slammed into the water with a sickening thud.

The video was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, August 8.

The caption read:

This happened Yesterday 8/7/2018 Yacolt, Washington. Teen girl badly injured after being pushed off Moulton Falls bridge.

Watch the heart-stopping footage here:

An ambulance was called to the scene, and while thankfully the girl survived, she suffered horrible injuries. The 16-year-old has five broken ribs, and a punctured lung.

The teenager’s mother, Genelle, explained the dangers of her daughter’s fall, and wants the girl responsible for pushing her to turn herself in.

Speaking to Katu, she said:

Recovery’s gonna be slow with her ribs, and her chest. I don’t see any hopes of leaving today.

If she fell a different way she could have broken her neck, become paralysed. She could have died.

My daughter’s gonna have a long road to recovery and I think that she should probably just turn herself in – realise what she did wrong. This is not okay.

She could have killed my daughter.

Jumping from the bridge into Lewis River is illegal, and Clark County Fire Chief, Ben Peeler, has explained people get hurt jumping from the bridge every year.

Speaking to The Columbian, he said:

You’ve got to land in there just right or you can get hurt. Every summer we have a couple of people out there who get hurt, and people do drown.

A lot of people on social media have been expressing their shock at the video footage, and some have been sending their wishes to the teenage girl who was pushed.

One person commented:

Man, this is brutal. Whomever it was that pushed this girl doesn’t realize it now, but she will bear the burden of guilt of this for the rest of her life. [sic]

I only hope she realizes how wrong it was sooner than later, owns up to it, seeks forgiveness and makes amends, whatever the cost may be. It was so fortunate the girl didn’t die. Thank God. [sic]

Another added:

What an absolutely horrible thing to do to another human being. I hope she is persecuted in some way for her actions. Unreal.

Our thoughts are with the young girl and we hope she makes a speedy recovery.
