This is the shocking moment a suspected gang of drug dealers live streamed their own deaths on Facebook.

The four young men had no idea a police helicopter was circling their car as they drove around Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil.

In the video, a passenger can be seen holding a phone filming him and his friends laughing as music booms from the radio.

Out of nowhere, shots ring out and the music suddenly stops.

Initially, the teenagers don’t appear alarmed by the noise.

According to the Daily Mail, three of the suspected dealers are believed to have been killed, while a fourth came away with injuries.

When the footage emerged online, people on social media praised the police for cutting out members involved in drug trafficking.

It’s not yet known why the car was shot at from above and not pulled over on the ground.

Brazil is one of the most violent countries in the world with a national homicide rate of 27.1 per 100,000 inhabitants.

A large part of this violence and criminality is linked to arms and drug trafficking operations, by organized crime groups.

Brazil’s increased domestic drug consumption in recent years has affected the domestic drug market and changed the structure and modes of operation of organized crime groups.

Back in 2006, the country adopted a new drug law, intended to make a clear and definitive distinction between drug users and dealers.
