Prom is meant to be a happy occasion celebrating the end of the school year but one teenager was left in tears when a bully tipped a jug of juice over her at the event.

16-year-old Emilee Perry, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, looked stunning in a sequinned, nude-coloured dress as she prepared to attend the event but her outfit was ruined just hours later after another cruel teen decided to target her.

Mum Tracy took to Facebook to share her outrage, where she shared pictures of her daughter both before and after the incident.

Emilee could be seen sat in the car after being collected, looking devastated and with her hair left sodden as a result of being drenched by the juice.

The mother explained Emilee suffers from anxiety and said she had ‘begged’ her daughter to go to prom, however the bully prevented her from having a good time.

Tracy’s post read:

This is my beautiful daughter, who suffers with anxiety whom we had to beg to go to the prom this evening.

Two hours later I collect her from the prom like this, heartbroken and in a state. This ‘person’ thought it a good idea to pour a full jug of juice over her and soak her from head to toe.

The mother also added a comment regarding what she thought should happen to the person who targeted her daughter, and while a lot of people may have shared the sentiment, the original post appears to have since been deleted from Facebook, potentially as the comment breached the site’s community guidelines.

Still, the photos of Emilee gained a lot of attention on Facebook and many users responded with comments showing their support for the young girl, with people calling her ‘beautiful’ and ‘gorgeous’ and many condemning the actions of the bully.

Tracy spoke to The Daily Record about the overwhelmingly response, saying:

It’s unbelievable what has happened, she has had words of support from all over the globe.

The 16-year-old has since taken to social media to thank those who offered her kind words.

She wrote:

Wow, I just want to take the time out to thank each and every person that has gone out of the way to absolutely shower me with love and support.

It is greatly appreciated and I will most certainly be eternally grateful for the extremely unexpected outcome of this situation! I’ve had so much support.

The way that people have responded has absolutely overwhelmed me and has proven to me that I can get through everything and it hope that this makes me a stronger person.

It’s devastating Emilee’s prom night was ruined by the actions of the bully, though it’s reassuring to see how people are rallying around her in response.
