If you’re looking for a new job, you may be in luck – the Queen is hiring.
At £21,000-a-year, you could be the next assistant anniversaries officer based at Buckingham Palace, helping to send out tens of thousands of messages from the Monarch.
According to the royal advertisement, the job is ‘sending congratulations that are never forgotten.’
The advertisement reads:
It’s working in a team with a shared and unique purpose, engaging with the public whilst supporting The Queen’s role.
This is what makes working for The Royal Household so exceptional.
The Anniversaries Team helps to produce congratulatory messages that provide a vital link between The Queen and the public.
According to the royal website, the assistant anniversaries officer prepares and sends out messages, ensuring that ‘the right response is delivered at exactly the right time.’
The advert adds:
You’ll check eligibility for each query, and using a data entry system, you’ll be 100% accurate with every congratulatory message response.
You’ll be proud of the number of messages you send out, which will drive you to consistently deliver high standards.
Cards are sent out for 100th and 105th birthdays and beyond, and 60th, 65th, and 70th wedding anniversaries and over – and with an ageing population, it’s a job whose workload could only get bigger. So if you’re looking for a job you can slack at, this one may not be for you.
Her Majesty has now sent over one million messages of congratulations for special birthdays and anniversaries, and in 2014 alone, a grand total of 53,000 cards were sent, the Mirror reports.
