Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has granted a grandmother’s dying wish after receiving an email from one of her grandchildren.
In a video posted to his Instagram, The Rock explains how he was given the email and ‘nobody on his staff’ knew who Judy was, but he wanted to share it with his fans.
The email described how 76-year-old Judy Rosenberg is a ‘potty mouth’ grandmother, married for 57 years and huge fan of The Rock – she’s also a mother-of-five and grandma to 17, and she’s currently in a hospice with stage four pancreatic cancer.
The Rock said it’s ‘amazing’ how Judy has 17 grandchildren and told her while he doesn’t have ‘that many babies’, he loves ‘practising making babies’ – adding how he told that joke because he knew she’d appreciate it.
He went on to send her – by request – an air kiss and he told her she is ‘sexy’ before wishing her ‘all the love and all the positive energy in the world’.
He captioned the video message:
Stay strong Judy, you sexy tiger. We’re all sending you and your family love and light during this time and I’m an extremely grateful man this email reached my eyes.
* this kind of stuff will always be the best part of fame. Thx U Universe
Recently, The Rock also made a young boy’s dream come true when he invited him on a trip.
The Rock stars in 2015’s San Andreas, which depicts California’s notorious San Andreas fault and the earthquake which followed.
So when he was told how 10-year-old Jacob O’Connor had copied CPR techniques he’d seen in the movie after finding his younger brother lying face-down in their swimming pool, he invited the boy and his family on an amazing trip.
Thanks to Jacob’s bravery, his younger brother, Dylan, spent just one day in hospital and has made a complete recovery.
As a treat, Jacob – along with his family – were flown out to Vancouver to meet the actor on the set of his upcoming movie Skyscraper, where they were greeted by a special welcome party.
The Rock posted a series of cute photos to his Instagram account, as well as a video:
In the video, The Rock praises Jacob – who was understandably ‘very shy’ when he first got to the party – and made mention of the 10-year-old’s special t-shirt.
The Rock wrote in his caption:
Jacob was super nervous and shy the whole time we hung out, so it was fun getting him to laugh and talk.
He threw me for an unexpected spin when he showed up on set wearing a shirt that he proudly made with my bull insignia on the front and on the back was the picture of me holding our two puppies, Brutus and Hobbs, after I rescued them from our pool.
Seeing that picture on this boy’s shirt, got me in the gut.
Eventually, we would lose Brutus to heaven, but it wasn’t the picture of Brutus that made me tear up, it was the fact that this 10-year-old kid had a heart big enough to put our puppies on his shirt after he saved his little two-year-old brother’s life.
What an absolute legend.
