These Guys Trained Like Superheroes And The Results Are Incredible

If you love those comic book action movies but come away with a deep sense of body inferiority, then fear not. There’s no superhero on the horizon, but there is a workout you can do…

Come on, did you learn nothing from Iron Man? If you’re going to save the world, first you’ve got to save yourself. And maybe put the bottle down for a few minutes. Tony can get away with it. You can’t.

Steve Zim is the owner of A Tighter U, a Culver City, California, gym. And he’s also the bloke who helped Chris Evans rip his abs and pecs into shirt birstingly tight condition to play Captain America in just four weeks. Men want his phone number, women and men want his number for their men.

To test Steve’s skills and to see if it’s physically possible to turn into a superhero outside of the comic book page or the cinema screenBuzzfeed sent two staffers Kelsey and Evan down to A Tighter U for a workout of Hollywood proportions that turned them into superheroes.

Their 30-day programme, five days a week, required an hour’s weight training and 20-40 minutes of cardio.

UNILAD bosses, maybe we can arrange something like this as an incentive… or a disciplinary.

Watch their transformation below:

Kelsey started off the Rocky-like montage 5’6″, 132lb and with 26 per cent body fat.

After five weeks of Steve’s training Kelsey dropped her body fat down to 6.2 per cent, gaining in muscle mass and resulting in a more symmetrical body shape.

But hold on, you should see how Evan’s workout worked out…

If you thought pecs you could open beer bottles with was the sole property of Captain America then think again. Look at the rack on this guy. But you’ll probably want to put the beers down if you’re going to go through a routine like this.

Evan started off a 6″, 155lb and with 15 per cent body fat. Following his five weeks of hell exercise, Evan’s chest increased by 3.5 inches, a 4.5 inch increase in shoulder width and his waist decreased by 1.5 inches.

On top of that his body fat percentage dropped to 6.6 per cent.

So who fancies doing this as a New Year’s resolution? Just maybe not this year’s.
