You know how they say money can’t buy you happiness?
Well apparently, £49,000 per year can.
That’s the amount of money that people have to earn in a year to not only be financially well off, but also a happy and satisfied person according to a study.
The study was done back in 2010, by Angus Deaton, a Princeton economist, who has won an award for his work dissecting how people’s work and salary can impact their happiness.
Apparently, as your salary increases, the way you see and assess your life changes, with people feeling they have ‘a better life’.
For me, £49,000 would probably make me a pretty happy person, and I’d imagine most people would say the same.
