Though the 8th of November may go down in history as a day to forget for the Democrats and Hillary Clinton, it was a groundbreaking day in the world of weed.

The states of Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada and California passed measures legalising recreational marijuana, while Montana, North Dakota, Arkansas and Florida all voted to legalise medicinal marijuana.

Of course, this is great news for stoners everywhere but it’s even better news for patients who harness its alleged medical properties as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs.

In the past we’ve seen people suffering with anything from Epilepsy to Parkinson’s disease to ADHD who’s conditions seem to drastically improve after using the drug, which still remains illegal in the UK.

Many of its advocates say its medical capabilities are endless, so it probably won’t come as much as a surprise to you that even war veterans are turning to the green stuff to help deal with post-traumatic stress disorder.

In a short clip made by Cut Video, who you may remember made the brilliant viral video of three grannies smoking weed for the first time, the three vets are first asked to describe their time in the army and the PTSD they suffer with.

About 90 seconds into the video the trio are given a bong to take a few rips from and only minutes later they’re pretty damn stoned.

They describe themselves as ‘happy’ and ‘relaxed’, with one of the veterans saying his PTSD is ‘not as much of an issue right now, I find’.

They proceed to get high AF while talking about how weed helps treat their PTSD in addition to what life is like after serving in the military.

What’s most poignant about this video is how at ease they are with their situations, with one veteran saying, ‘I feel safe, which is great. I enjoy that feeling’.

Surely it’s about time that more comprehensive research is done into this to find out once and for all if marijuana really has all these medical benefits. Because then maybe, just maybe, drug policy can finally get that much needed reform on a global scale.
