Though he definitely doesn’t look it, Will Smith is about to celebrate half a century on this planet.
And what better way to celebrate than to fling yourself out of a helicopter while attached to some elastic? Well, for Will, this is how he wants to celebrate, and he’s looking for someone to come with him.
The Fresh Prince has organised a whole day of activities the two of you can do together, hanging with his friends and family, having some food and, fingers crossed, maybe even shoot some b-ball outside of the school.
Don’t worry though, there won’t be any guys who are up to no good. In fact, the whole day is for a good cause, as well as celebrating his big birthday.
The day is organised by Omaze, who say:
Together with Will Smith, you’ll paint a perfect picture of his 50th birthday celebration. You’ll witness his epic heli-bungee jump in the company of Will’s closest family and friends.
Afterwards, you’ll join Will for food, fun and conversation. To properly memorialize this legendary day, you’ll snap photos with Will and FaceTime with friends to share your extraordinary experience.
The day will be spent ‘in the heart of the Grand Canyon,’ but don’t worry if you can’t get there – flights and accommodation will provided. Can’t say fairer than that.
To top it all off, it’s for a good cause, too. Will’s heli-bungee jump will be sponsored, with all donations going to The Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation. The money will then be distributed to Global Citizen and their Education Cannot Wait initiative, which provides 75-million children in crisis-affected areas access to education.

Announcing the daredevil birthday celebrations on Instagram, Will said:
Here’s the deal, I’m coming to you with a once in a lifetime opportunity. On September 25th, I’m turning 50, that’s the big 5-0.
And I’m offering you and a guest the chance to come party with me on my birthday.
It’ll be hot, I’m telling you – come, we’ll hang, have some lunch, take some pictures, you can FaceTime your Grandma.
Oh, I’ll be bungee-jumping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon, but you don’t have to do that part.
We’re teaming up with Omaze, Global Citizen, and YouTube. We’re raising money to benefit Education Cannot Wait
Let’s have some fun, let’s make the world a little bit brighter in the process.
Of course, Will Smith has bungee-jumped before. But last time he did, it wasn’t where or how he did it that caught people’s attention. It was his uncanny resemblance to Uncle Phil, or the late, great James Avery.
Social media went a bit mad over the photo. The saying goes we all turn into our parents eventually, and though Uncle Phil was an amazing father figure, no one expected this to happen.
So if you’re going to go and watch Will bungee jump, make sure your camera is at the ready.
