After 44 years of marriage, a divorce is never going to be easy. There are, however, a number of things many people do after a relationship – marriage or otherwise – to help with the period of adjustment.
From taking a holiday, moving house or going travelling for some much-needed soul searching, focussing on yourself is often seen as the way forward.
Another strategy is a complete makeover. New do, new you, right? Which is what Vicki did after her marriage of 44 years ended in divorce. Just a month after the paperwork was finalised, she felt she needed an uplifting change in her life, so booked an appointment with Christopher Hopkins, also known as The Makeover Guy.
Vicki was already familiar with Christopher’s work, and felt the time was right to treat herself to a new look after her difficult divorce.
Posting to YouTube, Christopher wrote:
Vicki was a little emotional since it was only a month since her divorced had been finalized. After 44 years of marriage, she was a newly single lady for the first time since she was 18. With an uplift in color, softened brows and a generally warmer glow, she shines for her next act.
Talking to the camera, an obviously emotional Vicki says she wants to ‘make me look better, make me feel good about me.’ She adds: ‘I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time, but I also recently got a divorce, so I’m starting a new life.’

Many people were quick to praise Christopher and the makeover team for their transformation of Vicki.

Divorce isn’t the only reason people decide to have makeovers, of course. Celine Centino from Zurich, for example, splashed out 50,000 Swiss Francs (£38,947) to completely alter her appearance.
The 24-year-old was bullied as a teenager, and spent years saving money so she could afford the surgery to transform herself.
After the surgery – having had procedures over the course of four years, including breast enhancements, a nose job, and fillers in her cheeks, lips and chin – Celine is content with the way she looks, saying ‘I feel so good about myself, and I’m finally happy again that I can live the life I always wanted.’
