If you’re heading off for some winter sun to escape the Arctic tundra taking over the Western world and want to turn some heads, then take a leaf out of this Tennessee girl’s playbook who got into trouble for the skimpiness of her swimsuit.
Tori Jenkins went for a splash in her apartment’s swimming pool and was shown the door marked ‘Get outta here’ by authorities who feared she might ‘excite teenage boys’ in the complex.
In totally messed up scenes of what’s acceptable for human beings to do to others, it’s alleged Tori was told to take photos of herself to see ‘how inappropriate’ her choice of swimwear was as well as being informed, a ‘normal bathing suit covers your entire butt’ because her body was deemed inappropriate by a property leasing consultant.
Posting to Facebook after scenes that have not been seen in Tennessee since some harpy type woman dared show too much ankle, Tori’s understandably pissed fiancé Tyler explained the nonsensical scenes, which make the rules of renting an apartment on this side of the Atlantic sound like a bohemian dream.
Tyler wrote:
I have never really witnessed sexual harassment and/or ‘rape culture’ until today with Smoky Crossing Apartments.
Today my fiancée was faced with either changing her bathing suit, covering up with shorts, or leaving the pool that we paid a $300 fee to maintain on top of a monthly rent of nearly $1000 (not including utilities and wifi).
Tori was accused of wearing a “thong bathing suit” and told there were complaints about the way she was dressed after roughly three minutes tops, of us arriving there.
Check it out in all its glory below. Madness. Such snowflakes over there in your United States.
Tyler’s explanation of the situation touches on some important points when it comes to attitudes towards women and how generally f*cked up the world is when people think they have the right to tell others what to do because of what they perceive might happen. Or what kind of swimsuit one can and cannot wear – to put it in lay terms.
He continued:
Today my fiancée was told she is less important than how men feel around her. That Tori is less important than a man’s urges to be sexual towards her.
I think she’s the most beautiful woman in the world, but I also respect her. I would never make her or any other woman feel less than what she’s worth because of her outfit or her looks.
This is how rape culture continues to grow.
Tyler concluded:
My fiancée being told she should cover up on a 90 degree day in our own apartment pool because she will ‘excite teenage boys’ is bullsh*t. I will not stand for this.
My fiancée should be able to wear a bathing suit without being sexualized and demeaned. She shouldn’t feel violated.
Land of the free, my foot.
