A young woman who was ‘slut-shamed’ online for her Halloween costume, received a very unexpected message of support.

Known online as Indy, the young woman shared a photo of herself dressed up as Hollywood icon and it-girl, Paris Hilton, for Halloween.

Inspired by Paris’ iconic sparkly silver halter neck dress she wore for her 21st birthday back in 2002, Indy decided to dress up as the socialite for the much-celebrated holiday.

Not the first one to do so, Kendall Jenner also copied Paris’ glittering look when she celebrated her own 21st birthday in November last year.

Citing the heiress as her inspiration, Jenner captioned her Instagram post with:

vintage Paris Hilton vibes.

However, because Kendall is a world famous model, she, of course, wasn’t really criticised for her choice of outfit while young Indy was ‘slut-shamed’ on Instagram for wearing such a revealing dress.

Not only did Indy receive plenty of negative messages from strangers, but people also took to the comments section to complain about her choice of costume.

However, among all the rude comments, there was one unexpected message from Paris herself, who naturally used her trademark catchphrase from The Simple Life.

Writing just those two simple words:

That’s hot

Indy’s day, week and life were now made.

She wrote on Twitter:

I got slut shamed for my Halloween costume but then Paris Hilton commented ‘that’s hot’ on my picture and literally that’s it.

That’s the story.

Yet the story didn’t end there…

Her tweet quickly went viral, receiving 41,000 retweets and 254,000 likes, at the time of writing.

Indy then also shared a screenshot of a direct message she had received from Paris herself:

Messaging Paris with a screenshot of her tweet which went viral, Indy got a response from the heiress –  a series of love hearts.

She captioned the photo:

I think we’re best friends now?? I’ll update you later.

We think Indy rocked the outfit, as does the majority of the Internet:
