The battle for Christmas No.1 has gotten a tad more heated over the past few days thanks to a bizarre feud between fans of Little Mix and supporters of Glasgow Rangers FC.
If you thought the Twitter battle of Drake and Eminem, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, Mark Wright and Danny Dyer, or Katie Hopkins and every person ever was bad, this girl band/football fans feud tops that tenfold.
In case you’re not quite up to speed, Rangers fans have been campaigning to try and get ‘Glad All Over’ by The Dave Clark Five to the top of the music charts in time for it to be Christmas No.1.
Little Mix’s new song ‘Touch’ is in direct competition with ‘Glad All Over’. The girls are looking to scoop their fifth No.1 and their first-ever Christmas No.1, so as you can imagine, this isn’t going down too well with their fans.
After a few Little Mix fans started trading insults with a few Rangers fans, things got serious.
Eventually, the whole thing turned into a Twitter rumble:
And then things got personal – and a little weird:
Currently, neither ‘Glad All Over’ nor ‘Touch’ is in top spot, with ‘Rockabye’ by Clean Bandit beating both in the December 16-22 charts.
If Little Mix or The Dave Clark Five end up taking Christmas No.1, we may have to brace ourselves for a rumble.
