Adele and Simon Konecki had been dating since 2011, they welcomed a son, Angelo, in 2012 and were married in 2016, though the singer didn’t publicly confirm their marriage until she announced it at a concert in 2017.
Adele’s representative’s confirmed the news yesterday, April 19, in a statement to the Associated Press, saying:
Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.
The 30-year-old singer has always been rather private about her relationships, only confirming her marriage in 2017 at the Grammy awards ceremony, saying: ‘Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son — you’re the only reason I do it.’
Simon Konecki is the co-founder of Life Water, an brand of bottled spring water ‘with a conscience’ that is eco-friendly, and funds clean water projects across the world through the Drop4Drop charity.
Speaking about her husband to Vanity Fair, back in Decemeber 2016, Adele said:
I have no desire to be with anyone in show business, because we all have egos. He’s not threatened by any stage of my life that I’m going for, and that’s an amazing thing. It’s the most serious relationship I’ve ever been in; we’ve got a child together and we live together.
After releasing my first album, all the other people I ever was with were so insecure about themselves – they couldn’t handle it at all. When I try to describe this to my friends they don’t always get it, because they go out with people that are our age, but Simon is already who he is, and I’m still becoming who I’m going to be. He’s confident. He’s perfect.

If my relationship with Simon or my relationship with Angelo started to flounder a bit now, I would pull out of my tour. My life is more important to me than anything I’m doing because how the fuck am I supposed to write a record if I don’t have a life? If I don’t have a real life, then it’s game over anyway.
Adele’s last album, 25, was released in 2015.
