Adele is a superstar in every sense of the word, she’s a record-breaking artist with hundreds of awards to her name.

She’s also incredibly likeable and can basically do no wrong – everybody loves her.

While Adele is mainly known for her distinctive voice (and even more distinctive laugh), we might be getting to see more of her – on the big screen.

The London-native singer is in talks to play Nancy in a new film adaptation of classic tale Oliver!, according to The Sun.

Adele has apparently been approached by the production team to star in the remake of the musical version of the Charles Dickens novel.

Adele had previously hinted she was finished with touring her music after a massive stint travelling with her latest album ’25’.

This was always billed as Adele’s first and last tour, so the fact she’s branching into acting makes sense.

At the end of the tour, she wrote a letter to fans, which read:

So this is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end.

Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus, I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is!

The letter continued:

I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live.

And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.

The film Oliver! has some other pedigree attached to the project, with the production being handled by Working Title and Sir Cameron Mackintosh.

This team are the crew behind the incredibly successful Les Miserables adaptation from 2012.

A source close to Adele said:

It would be a major part for her and she’s seriously considering it.

She’s talked about Angelo being her number one priority and she sees this as a role that he could appreciate too.

It would be a new challenge for her but one she would definitely be up for.

This wouldn’t be Adele’s first cinematic endeavour as she penned the Oscar winning song Skyfall for the James Bond film of the same name.

It would also mark her first dramatic turn in front of the screen, but we can’t help feel like she’s perfect for the role.
