Pete Davidson has reportedly blocked Ariana Grande on all forms of social media, in an attempt to ‘distance himself’ for the sake of his health.
The couple split up in October, calling off their relationship just months after they got engaged, much to the shock of fans.
They moved from going ‘official’ to having tattoos dedicated to each other in a matter of days, and Ariana was spotted wearing an engagement ring not long after that.
But the pair split and since then – like in any celebrity breakup – Davidson has received hate online from people who don’t even know him.
So much so, that despite remaining quiet on the subject for months, he finally took to social media to address the issue.
He posted a note to his Instagram page, saying:
I’ve kept my mouth shut. Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything.
I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference.
Especially in today’s climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it is truly mind boggling. I’ve been getting online bullied and in public by people for 9 months. [sic]
He then went on to say:
I’ve spoken about BPD [borderline personality disorder] and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this earth. [sic]
I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t. I’m upset I even have to say this.
To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is – I see you and I love you.
Ariana responded by posting to her Instagram story, addressing her fans and asking them to ‘be gentler with others’.
She reminded her followers she cares deeply about Pete and his health, saying no-one ever knows what a person is feeling while asking them to leave him alone.
She ended by saying:
so please let whatever point you’re trying to make go.I will always have irrevocable love for him and if you’ve gotten any other impression from my recent work, you might have missed the point. [sic]
It would seem, and understandably so, it’s become too much for Pete who’s now reportedly blocked Ariana on social media.
As reported by Cosmopolitan, a source told Us Weekly the SNL star has blocked his ex-fiancée.
The source said:
Pete is trying to distance himself from her narrative for his health.
Ariana confirmed the news herself, in a DM sent to one of her fans on her personal Twitter account.
The fan shared the screenshot on Twitter, writing ‘there’s nothing left to say…’, which Ariana then retweeted with a black love heart.

In the message, Ariana confirms Pete has blocked her by writing:
i haven’t seen any of it because i’m blocked but i want you to know that i would never want or encourage that ever and you should know that. [sic]
i care about him deeply. [sic]
Davidson is being praised by experts for speaking up and doing what’s right for him and his mental health, as well as raising awareness about Borderline Personality Disorder.
Sophie Lazarus, an assistant professor of psychiatry at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, told TODAY:
It certainly can have an effect of destigmatizing (BPD). Someone who thinks they are untreatable or overly emotional or damaged might see this and look up what the symptoms (are) and seek treatment.
We wish them both the best during this difficult situation.
