ASAP Rocky has said he’d be down to tour with Kid Cudi, saying it’s definitely ‘a goal’.
Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, was responding to a suggestion by Cudi on social media that he could bring the rapper along on a world tour in the near future.
Rather than simply agreeing to the tour as you might expect, Rocky more-than-enthusiastically said (or rather shouted) this is something that has to happen.
The announcement came after a fan tweeted Cudi, real name Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, asking if he was going to do a world tour in the coming years and ‘revisiting places like Australia’.
The American rapper responded immediately, writing:
Id love that why not? Bring some people w me like @asvpxrocky and the fam
Turns out Rocky also loves the idea of touring around Australia with his pal, because he replied yesterday (June 7) saying: ‘FACT$!!! THIS IS A GOAL LET$ MAKE IT HAPPEN!!’
I mean, the dollar symbol even came out and that’s when you know he’s serious.
As per Complex, this wouldn’t be the first time the pair have worked together, with Rocky featuring on Cudi’s 2013 album Indicud on the song Brothers.
More recently, Cudi featured on the remix of A$AP Forever, from Rocky’s 2018 album TESTING. Rocky also appeared in the video for Cudi’s song Surfin’ from his 2016 album Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.
Obviously there’s no lack of material for the two of them to be getting on with, it’s just whether they can both take the time out of their busy schedules to hit up Australia together.
But hey, if ASAP has said it’s a goal, then it’s a goal. The rapper has only positive things to say about Cudi as well, telling Complex about the time he finally got to meet ‘one of his idols’.
Rocky was on Skype with Matt Williams, designer of Alyx, when Cudi popped up on the screen and he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
The rapper explained:
He got on the camera and was like, ‘Yo what up? That song with you and ScHoolboy, ‘Hands On The Wheel,’ that’s tight.’ I was like, ‘Oh shit. Tight.’
The Cudder is the fucking man. I love Cudi, man. He’s dope as fuck. He’s a dope big bro.
Incredible. Here’s hoping the tour happens sooner rather than later.
