Welcome to 2016, the year that will go down in history as the moment the world was gifted Boyzlife.

Following in the footsteps of boyband super-duo trailblazers McBusted, the dregs of ’90s bands Boyzone and Westlife have come together to form the aforementioned super-band, Boyzlife – which sounds like a teen mag for boys that nobody reads.

The group will comprise of Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy only, and despite neither of them being ‘boyz’ anymore – more middle aged men – apparently they’re looking to cash in on the nostalgia and heartthrob status their former bands hold.

According to Keith the new venture ‘has no limits’, but at the moment the plan is to share stories from their respective band’s heyday and perform their best known hits during a twelve-date UK tour, which sounds a bit limited.

Keith told the Daily Mail:

We can’t wait to get out on the road and reconnect with our fans, taking a trip down memory lane. We’re thrilled to be partnering exclusively with Hilton Hotels & Resorts for the tour.

There’s no limit to this. We’re going out there with our ears and eyes open.

An exclusive partnership with Hilton Hotels & Resorts might also count as a ‘limit’, in terms of venues, no matter how wide eyed you are, mate.

Although it’s currently only a duo, Brian doesn’t rule out adding more former members to the roster, and the pair plan to film a reality series about the reunion, and maybe even record some new tracks, because money.

As the Mail points out, Brian is a pretty surprising former Westlife member to kick-start this new venture, as he couldn’t wait to get out of there the first time round – he left in 2004, eight years before the band actually split, to spend time with then wife Kerry Katona.

Money makes people do the strangest things, unfortunately for us, this time it created Boyzlife.
