Cardi B isn’t usually one for shying away from the spotlight.
The musician has made her relationship with fellow rapper Offset very public, even performing and touring while pregnant.
However, what the pair hadn’t revealed is the fact they’re already married, and actually tied the knot months ago.
The couple got a marriage certificate (which is filed with a court after the wedding) in Atlanta, Georgia, back in September 2017, reports TMZ.
On Sunday, June 24, rap trio Migos won the award for Best Group at the BET Awards. While collecting the award, Offset said:
I thank my wife. You should thank yours.
In October 2017, Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, proposed to Cardi B, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, while the pair were onstage together. The certificate, however, proves they’d been married for a month by then.
Bemused fans took to Twitter, naturally, to dispute the marriage rumours:
Here’s another celebrity couple who recently got married:
It was also recently confirmed Cardi B had donated $8,000 (over £6,000) to the family of Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz, the teenager who was brutally murdered by a gang in a case of mistaken identity.
15-year-old Lesandro was killed after he was dragged outside of a bodega in the Bronx, New York, last week, Wednesday (June 20). After the teenager’s harrowing death the Bodak Yellow rapper donated a sizeable amount to his family.
She also took to Instagram to demand justice for the slain teen, who had dreams of becoming a police detective.
After donating to the GoFundMe page the proud Bronx native posted two pictures on Instagram in order to bring awareness to Junior’s murder and the trauma his family are going through.
In the first post, Cardi B wrote:
#justiceforjunior… R.I.P. .These Bronx streets are ruthless .What piss me off the most is that these BX cops be harassing the shit outta people then they see a boy bleeding to death and ask what happen ?“uuuummmmmmmm…
How bout you call the ambulance like ya be calling for back up when ya see nikkas smoking in front of a building !!!!! People be like”call the police!” Call the police!!”
But for what the operators be asking you questions for like 4 minutes on the phone with an attitude and the cops come maaa lateeee. [sic]
In a second post she stated:
Shheeeshhh this made me teared and made me feel soooo special like i feel maa special. [sic]
She let the family know, while she feels their pain, they ‘will feel more protected’ as they will feel his presence in everyday life and ‘will have signs’ God is with them. She also made her followers aware of the GoFundMe account for Junior if they wanted to help the family out.
Five people have been arrested following the murder of Lesandro, according to the New York City Police Department.
He was allegedly dragged from a store and attacked outside a Bronx deli on Wednesday evening, before being left to die on the pavement. It’s believed to have been a case of mistaken identity.
