Liam Gallagher called his brother a ‘sad f*ck’ for not attending the One Love Manchester benefit concert on Sunday – but Coldplay have taken a more sympathetic approach to Noel’s absence.

At the benefit concert for the victims of the Manchester Arena terror attack, Coldplay paid tribute to Oasis, covering ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ before joining Liam on stage for a rendition of ‘Live Forever’.

Unhappy with his brother’s lack of attendance, Liam took to Twitter to criticise Noel and to apologise to fans.

He said:

Noel’s out of the fucking country weren’t we all, love get on a fucking plane and play your tunes for the kids you sad fuck.

But Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, has taken a slightly different approach to Noel’s no show and thanked him for allowing them to cover his songs and making mention of the fact they knew he wouldn’t be there in advance.

Meanwhile, Liam, who has previously criticised Coldplay in interviews, has done somewhat of a u-turn and praised the group saying they’ve ‘never sounded so good’.

Previously, he’s come out with some fantastic insults – including:

Chris Martin looks like a geography teacher. What’s all that with writing messages about Free Trade? If he wants to write things down I’ll give him a pen and a pad of paper. Bunch of students.

And:

I’m sure he does put on a good gig, Chris Martin, the amount of money he gets paid. He looks like he’s in The Tweenies though. The whole band look beyond shit. Have they not seen any photos of The Rolling Stones? Probably not.

But now, Liam has said this:

They’ve never sounded so good have they, Coldplay? I was like, Fucking hell, you sound good man. I take back everything I’ve ever said about you. You sound fucking really good.

Let’s all get along, shall we?
