Kesha has dropped her sexual assault lawsuit against Dr. Luke as she focuses on restarting her music career.

The singer has been locked in a legal battle with the producer after trying to get out of a multi-record deal, arguing that she can could no longer work with her former mentor who allegedly sexually and emotionally abused her.

He has never been charged with any crime and claims she made up the allegations in an attempt to ruin his reputation to try to get out of her recording contract.

Luke has sued Kesha for defamation, and that case is still ongoing.

While these charges have been ongoing, the 29-year-old has been unable to release any new music as she is still on his label, Kemosabe Records, owned by Sony Music.

Kesha asked a judge to leave the music label, but her request was refused back in April.

But in a statement to BuzzFeed News, Kesha’s legal team have claimed that she has submitted 28 new songs in the last month to Luke’s label and has a ‘strong desire’ to release a single and album ASAP.

Kesha has still left the door open to refiling the California lawsuit at a later date, so this might not be over just yet.
