Hold the press guys; we might just have another celebrity feud on our hands, rivalling the likes of Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly.
At the centre of the drama are Drake and The Weeknd, as the In My Feelings rapper has reportedly unfollowed his previous collaborator on Instagram.
Okay, maybe it’s not to the same extent as Em and MGK just yet, but everyone knows a cheeky unfollow on Instagram basically equates to unfriending someone in real life. It’s just science.
I’ll be honest with you, I’ve unfollowed plenty of people in my time – and it’s only ever been because I’m 100 per cent certain I’ll never see them again. The only difference is, no-one cares enough to write an entire article about it. So, there ya go.
As reported by Complex, the sneaky unfollow comes after many fans believed The Weeknd’s latest collaboration with Gesaffelstein – Lost in the Fire – was about Drake.
In particular, one passage in the track references the rapper wanting to have a baby, before going on to say he could never ‘hide one’. Which many think is a reference to the recent revelations surrounding Drake’s son with retired French adult actor, Sophie Brussaux. Yikes.
Take a look at the lyrics below and see what you think:
And I just want a baby with the right one
(I just want a baby with the right)
‘Cause I could never be the one to hide one
(I could never be the one to hide)
Pusha T, who released the diss track The Story of Adidon last year – to call on Drake to step up as a father – seemed to approve the song.
Taking to Twitter, the American rapper retweeted The Weeknd’s latest music video alongside three fire emojis.
This only added fuel to the fire, with fans taking this as confirmation The Weeknd’s song is about Drake.
Now, don’t ask me how anyone found out Drake no longer follows The Weeknd, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, because I honestly have no clue.
Do people just sit at their computers and wait until something like this happens? Or can you get notifications or alerts or something which tells you about it?
What I do know though, is someone did indeed make the discovery, and they shared it on Instagram for the world to see:
But as one bromance goes out of the window, it seems another one has walked through the door, as Drake is now following Soulja Boy on the social media platform.
It comes after Soulja Boy recently said he taught the Hotline Bling rapper ‘everything he knows’, appearing on The Breakfast Club where he said he ‘made Drake’.
A huge claim, to say the Kiss Me Thru The Phone singer was pretty much left behind in the early 2000s. But hey, you’ve gotta admire his confidence.
It seems the host of the show was quite amused by the rapper’s claims too, as he questioned Soulja Boy when he said: ‘Stop playing with me like I ain’t teach Drake everything he knows.’
Soulja was more than ready to back up his claims with evidence though; launching into Drake’s song Miss Me, the rapper sang the opening lines which he explained were stolen from his 2008 song Kiss Me Thru The Phone.
The 28-year-old exclaimed:
He copied my whole fucking flow, word for word, bar for bar! Don’t act like I didn’t make Drake! Don’t do that!
Regardless of the outburst though, it seems Soulja has a new companion (at least online).
What more could he want?
