Eagles Of Death Metal Return To Paris, Join U2 On Stage

Less than a month after terrorist gunmen stormed their gig in the Bataclan concert hall, killing 89 people during the Paris attacks, the Eagles of Death Metal made an emotional return to the stage in the French capital.

During their show at the AccorHotels Arena, a venue not far from the Bataclan, U2 invited the U.S. rockers to join the band on stage at their gig in the city.

During the band’s encore, U2 frontman Bono said: “They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago – we would like to offer them ours tonight”.

It marked the first time the EODM had played in public since the horrific attacks on November 13.

Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse Hughes told the crowd: “Paris we love you and we will never give up rock and roll!”

The two bands led the 16,000 strong audience in a version of ‘People Have the Power’ before Eagles of Death Metal performed solo, singing ‘I Love You All the Time’.

In a Facebook post after the show, EODM thanked U2 for the opportunity to perform in Paris again, and promised fans they’d be back with more shows next year.
