When the Eagles of Death Metal gave their first interview since the brutal Paris attacks they vowed to finish their tour and return to the Bataclan.

But it now looks like they’re returning to Paris sooner than we thought…

The venue is still under repair, but Billboard reports that the band will join U2 for its final song at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena. U2 are playing the venue on Sunday, December 6 and Monday, December 7.

Apparently that isn’t it either. Their cameo will include co-founder Josh Homme who does not normally tour with the band and wasn’t with the band during the November 13 attack.

Their source added that the Eagles of Death Metal will continue its halted European tour in February 2016.

Both of U2’s Paris shows were originally scheduled for Nov 14 and 15, but were postponed after the attacks, with many other bands following suit.

The rumours seem to make sense, as Bono and his bandmates were in quite a bit of contact with the Eagles of Death Metal during the horrific weekend. They bought them new phones, offered them use of their plane, and provided counsel on what they’d just endured.

The series of attacks in Paris on Friday, November 13 left 130 dead, 89 of them at the Eagles of Death Metal’s Bataclan concert, including merchandise manager Nick Alexander.

The band members managed to escape unscathed.
