Music critics hailed Ed Sheeran for saving 2017 when he dropped two new singles to kick start our new harmonious year.

Not content with saving our broken souls through the medium of music after the shit show that was 2016, now Ed is here to save our ill thought-out January fitness regimes, too.

On the promotional tour of his new album, internet detectives have noticed the 25-year-old singer-songwriter seems to have slimmed down a lot since we last saw him.

The loop pedal artist was given a high-intensity regime by his hockey-playing girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, 24 to tackle his weight gain when he was back home from his world tour.

Ed explained:

I didn’t realise how active I was on tour. My diet was pizza and beer, but because I was doing two hours a night I was really in shape.

I stopped touring and carried on my diet of pizza and beer. Suddenly I didn’t fit in anything. I was like, ‘All my clothes have shrunk’.

I did ten minutes a day without fail; intervals of 30 seconds sprinting and 30 jogging. The key is to not miss a day, so you don’t have to do an hour.
