Ed Sheeran Stops To Watch His Girlfriend Play Hockey In Essex

Play sports? Watch sports? You may want to look around, Ed Sheeran could be right behind you.

The 26-year-old spent his Saturday afternoon cheering on his girlfriend at a hockey match in Essex.

Sheeran stood in the sidelines like a regular supporter, watching Cherry Seaborn’s match at Chelmsford Hockey Club.

In other words, he’s a normal human being.

Unlike fellow notoriously-bad-for-their-disguises superstars Leonardo DiCaprio and Justin Bieber, the Shape of You singer decided to visit the match without a disguise – except for a hat.

After being spotted, he even posed for photos with fans.

A tweet from the hockey club’s account read: “Thank you to Ed Sheeran for making it a special day at Chelmer Park for a lot of our younger players. Thank you for making some older players happy too.”

And Ed must’ve been a good omen – Wimbeldon won 5-0.

Sheeran and Seaborn have dated since mid 2015. For most of 2016, the pair travelled the world together as the singer enjoyed a year off from making music.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2, he said:

I’m actually the happiest I’ve been and it’s because I had a year to spend with someone. I’ve always started relationships then gone off on tour.

I spent every day for a year with this certain person, we kind of have a strong relationship now which is good.

I’m really secure now, we live together and we have cats, and I think when you have cats that’s kind of it.

He’s not wrong. There’s nothing quite like a cat to secure a relationship.
