Eminem is finally hitting the road again with the announcement of his first American tour in four years.
The news we have all been waiting for came via Pollstar, through which Eminem’s agent Cara Lewis said the rap legend ‘will be touring next year on select dates, his first US performances since 2014.’
It’s not entirely certain just how wide-reaching this tour will be – certainly the word ‘select’ doesn’t inspire hope of a large tour.
So right now, we don’t know which US cities will be getting a dose of Shady, so most people will just have to get tickets as close as possible.
Lewis also announced other dates from other artists:
Travis Scott will be headlining arenas in 2018. And last but certainly not least, Chance the Rapper will play international dates including Lollapalooza in Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
The announcement is no accident, as Shady’s new album Revival is set to drop this Friday December 15.
He has released a couple of singles, including an emotional duet with Beyonce called Walk on Water, and a new single called Untouchable.
He was also in headlines for his incredible gift to Sir Elton John when he and his partner got married.
That’s right, Eminem gave Sir Elton a pair of diamond-encrusted cock rings to celebrate his and David Furnish’s civil partnership in 2005.
While most would be mortified about receiving such an unusual gift from a friend, Elton fully embraced it. Never one to shy about his private life, he revealed:
When David [Furnish] and I did our civil partnership, I got this package from Eminem. It shows you how homophobic he isn’t.
It had two diamond-encrusted cock rings on velvet cushions. I have to say, they have remained unused!
The revelation came about when host Graham Norton was asking fellow guest Pink about her work with the controversial rapper, who features on her new album Beautiful Trauma.

She told Norton, her fellow guests Elton, Stephen Fry and Carey Mulligan, and the audience how she really loved him and always wanted to work with him, eventually asking him to help her get her ‘Rap Grammy’. Basically she sent a long-winded email where she gushed over him in order to get an exclusive collaboration.
He of course responded in the most ‘Eminem-way’ possible… by simply saying ‘okay’.
Fry asked Elton if he had influence on helping Slim Shady change some of his ‘less politically correct’ views. He replied by saying:
He was accused of being homophobic by so many people because of his lyrics, which I thought was nonsense.
I came out and supported the fact that he isn’t [homophobic] and I appeared on the Grammys with him, doing Stan, instead of Dido.
We became friends. We’ve been amazing friends ever since. He’s an amazing guy. I interviewed him last week for a magazine.
It will undoubtedly only be a matter of time before Shady announces further dates, and this bodes well for any fan of his around the world that they will finally get to see Em in the flesh.
