Eminem and Dr Dre are releasing new music, as part of a film project to be released next year.

Rap’s most dynamic duo are working together again on the upcoming film Bodied, a feature length film about the underground rap battle scene in America.

Brought to life by Korean-American director Joseph Kahn, who recently worked with Taylor Swift on her controversial video for Look What You Made Me Do, the film has been backed by Eminem.

Mathers has penned the soundtrack and is reported to have brought Dre into the project on a couple of tracks.

Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg, who also worked on 8 Mile, are composing a number of original songs for the Bodied soundtrack, according to The Hollywood Reporter, after seeing a cut screened at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 7.

Bodied will explore the use of explicit language in rap, and the limitation on free speech in rap battles, according to Joseph Kahn.

Kahn said:

In battle rap, people would say the meanest, craziest, most racist things, and then they would get a beer together, and they would be friends. I wanted to explore that in a movie.

The battle rap world is an underground message of free speech. But the film doesn’t automatically take the side of free speech because there’s still the question that we’re asking: ‘Is there a limit to it?’

It’s a legitimate question.

Eminem is acting as producer for Bodied, giving untold credibility to Kahn’s latest feature film, which takes a satirical look at the offensive language used in battle rap.

The film also stars battle rap mainstays like Loaded Lux, Dizaster, Dumbfoundead and Hollow Da Don.
