The Real Slim Shady has spoken out about his love life after fame and divorce, saying it can be ‘tough’.

You’d think with all his talent (and money), Marshall Mathers wouldn’t find it all that hard to get a date?

Yet even Eminem has to resort to online dating and tackle the minefield of Tinder tactics to meet women sometimes.

He told Vulture:

It’s tough. Since my divorce I’ve had a few dates and nothing’s panned out in a way that I wanted to make it public. Dating’s just not where I’m at lately.

Going to strip clubs is how I was meeting some chicks. It was an interesting time for me.

Am I lonely? No, I’m good. Thanks for asking though.

It’s not certain if the rapper was joking about his methods for meeting people, but aside from Tinder, Eminem also said he’d also try to find dates on Grindr – the LGBT version of Tinder, in case you didn’t know.

His remark is not surprising, considering Eminem has been known to champion LGBT rights and never shies away from talking about homophobia in the US.

Take, for example, this kind act of NSFW generosity to Elton John:

Speaking about his music and how it’s matured, Eminem added:

But I’m not killing Kim on songs anymore — we’re good now and she’s the mother of my daughter.

Kim Scott, Eminem’s ex-wife (the couple were twice-married and twice-divorced) and the mother of his daughter, Hailie, makes frequent cameos in his lyrics. After the release of Eminem’s Kim in 2000, she sued him for defamation.

Speaking before the release of Revival, his new, eagerly-awaited and much-hyped album, Eminem said:

I’ve put out bad albums. Encore was mediocre and with Relapse — it was the best I could do at that point in time.

I feel good enough to put it out. I guess we’ll have to see what the reaction is… I’ve always felt in touch with the people who listen to my music. I make it for them.

Anybody else, fuck ‘em. It’s fine if critics or whoever keep thinking I’m not as good as I was.

Eminem, on his ‘tasteless’ lyrics, explained he’s ‘matured’:

I’ve grown and sometimes I want to reflect that — but when I’m writing, a line will pop in my head that’s so f*cking ridiculous that it’s funny and depending on the punch lines I need and the rhyme schemes in the song maybe I’ll use it.

Those are the things I’m thinking about with some lyrics, almost before the actual meaning.

You know, there’s a book called Truly Tasteless Jokes; it’s all f*cked up shit; it makes me laugh and that kind of stuff is where my brain goes.

I’m not saying I’ve never gone too far, but people shouldn’t be looking to me for political correctness.

Truly tasteless or not, you have to admit, Eminem is still one of the greatest rappers of our time…

Even if everyone hates his new album.
