With no big announcement, no marketing schemes or teases on social media Eminem has dropped a surprise new album.

Slim Shady caught everyone off-guard on Twitter when he dropped a link to his tenth solo album, Kamikaze.

Executive produced by long-time mentor Dr. Dre, Kamikaze boasts 13 new tracks which features collaborations with Joyner Lucas, fellow Detroit rapper Royce Da 5’9 and singer Jessie Reyez.

In the early hours of the morning (August 31), Eminem wrote on Twitter:

Tried not 2 overthink this 1…enjoy #KAMIKAZE Out Now [sic]

Yesterday afternoon (August 30) the multi-platinum award-winning artist teased his involvement in the upcoming Venom movie, starring Tom Hardy.

However, there was no indication a new album was on the way. But here we are, so just enjoy the ride.

Kamikaze is available now on Spotify, Apple Music and all other music streaming services.

You can stream the album below, so let us know what you think:

Despite Eminem’s new album only dropping today, hip-hop Twitteratti has gone wild with the reactions.

One person wrote:

Eminem just dissed all of your favorite rappers by name and not a single one of them is going to do sh*t about it lmaooooo [sic]

Another person posted:

anyone wanna come over and listen to this new eminem tape while my step dad just whoops the soul out of us [sic]

Kamikaze is Eminem’s tenth LP and his second this year. It follows his last album release, Revival, which received mixed reviews and had many in the hip-hop community – from rappers, DJ’s and music journalists – questioning whether Marshall Mathers still had the ability to keep up with today’s new rappers.

The new album is a response to those who slated his last album as Eminem flames all his critics like it was The Marshall Mathers LP era.

Rappers such as Tyler, The Creator and Joe Budden are among those who’ve incurred the lyrical wrath of the Detroit MC.

It’s good to have the old Shady back, isn’t it?
