PAGet ready everyone, Will Smith is about to make a musical comeback and it could be incredible.
The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff are reuniting and have confirmed they will be performing lives in the UK this summer- exciting times!
Speaking on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show last night, Will said: “I’ve been working on something and this time I’m not lying! We’ve recorded about 25 songs and have four or five I actually like.”
He then admitted after being asked about his return to the music industry that they will be back to do real shows.
Will and Jazzy Jeff Townes met in the 1980’s when they were trying to break into West Philadelphia’s local hip hop scene. They went on to become Grammy award winners and then reunited in 2013 to perform the theme tune to The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.
BBC/YouTubeSpeaking to Zane Lowe last year, Will admitted that he and Jeff already had 30 songs: “[There are about] six or seven that I really, really like, that I’m trying to get the ideas to come out right.”
In this interview he also revealed that he was ‘pretty certain’ that a world tour was is in the pipeline too.
We are al hoping that we’ll all be able to sit back and relax with some brand new Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff jams this summertime.
Once tour dates are confirmed, I can imagine tickets being snapped up pretty quickly…
