Game of Thrones fans could spend an evening getting a good night’s sleep, or they could spend it at a seven hour-long rave with Hodor himself on the decks.
I don’t think people will struggle too much with that decision.
The unique event will see Kristian Nairn DJing his way across the nation on a tour which has been dubbed ‘Rave of Thrones’. As if it could ever have been called anything else.
I actually had the honour of seeing Hodor perform live when he came to my university’s student union, and while admittedly I don’t really remember the specifics of the night I remember it being a lot of fun, so his tour will no doubt be even more impressive.
HBOAccording to The Hook, the Game of Thrones-themed tour is set to begin with a seven hour session on April 26 at Electric Brixton, London, before launching in Bristol, Manchester and Leeds.
Fans of the show will no doubt realise that date is just a couple of weeks after the programme returns to our screens for season eight, so with the hype for the final episodes reaching its peak, there’ll be no better time to celebrate all things Game of Thrones.
Nairn isn’t the only link to the show at Rave of Thrones; in fact the event will immerse partygoers in the world of GoT. The club will be transformed into a faux banquet hall and will be host to some White Walkers, as well as (lookalikes of) Daenarys and Jon Snow.
According to the Rave of Thrones Facebook page there’ll be sword fights, a replica castle to form the stage, and, of course, an Iron Throne to complete the look of the venue.
Hodor is in charge of the music; a skill he’s been practising for around 20 years – in between his time spent at Winterfell, of course. He’s set to play a mix of classic house and dance alongside My Friend, Goldierocks and Muzz Khan.
Nairn has taken Rave of Thrones all over the world, and regular attendees reportedly sometimes ask the actor to drop the beat in Dothraki with the phrase ‘aranat oqo’.
Obviously it wouldn’t be a real theme night without some effort from the guests, so partygoers are encouraged to dress as Game Of Thrones characters and will even be given the opportunity to meet former cast members of the show.
It will certainly be a night to remember!
