It’s hard to believe that the iconic grunge anthem Smells Teen Spirit by Nirvana first blew everyones minds 25 years ago.

Ever since there have been endless tributes and covers of the track, but this cover may just be the most epic of them all.

This is the spine-tingling moment that ‘the world’s biggest rock band’ play the Nirvana classic in unison, for a massive crowd at Italy’s Cesena stadium, Konbini reports.

Rockin’ 1000, which now boasts 200 more members, just beat the world record for the most musicians to unite at the same concert and chose to mark the occasion with Cobain’s masterpiece.

It’s enough to give you goosebumps as 1,200 guitarists, bassists, drummers and singers, professional or otherwise, all perform together at once.

This moment of pure magic unfolded in front of a 13,000-strong crowd, with all proceeds from the event going to charity.

The enormous ensemble also treated fans to other rock hits including tracks from AC/DC, The Black Keys and The White Stripes.

This isn’t the first time the organisation have done a massive jam either, with the group grabbing worldwide recognition after doing a super-sized rendition of Foo Fighters’ Learn to Fly.
