With boxing legend Muhammed Ali only passing away yesterday, the Twittersphere was fearing that Jack Black was yet another celebrity to die in 2016.
This comes after Tenacious D’s official Twitter page, tweeted his death earlier this morning.
This tweet was then followed up with the hashtag #RipJackBlack and an update:
Many believed the account may have been hacked, but it still didn’t stop a load of his fans to tweet their concern for him:
Jack and bandmate Kyle Gass had recently performed at Rock Am Ring festival in Germany and many tried to unearth evidence to indicate that he’s alive and well.
First, there was a snapchat of him hanging out with Diplo a matter of hours ago:
And another claimed that he is already on a plane back to LA:
But now the Tenacious D account has since tweeted that the actor-come-singer is in fact safe and well, indicating that they’ve been hacked:
Jack’s rep also said on Saturday, according to MediaMass:
He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimised by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.
The Hollywood A-lister has been a victim of celebrity death hoaxes on several occasions in the past, with the latest one reportedly started by a Facebook tribute page which said he died in New Zealand.
Shit, they really had us all worried for a minute there.
