As the world comes to terms with the death of music superstar Prince on Thursday, it seems Justin Bieber didn’t read the situation all too well.

Many of Prince’s musical peers led moving tributes in the wake of his untimely death, including musician Andrew Watt who posted this on Instagram.

This past Tuesday night before my show I was picking out an outfit…I was so tired from the past week of endless traveling and gigging that I grabbed my Prince shirt and said fuck it I’m gonna channel the purple one tonight…I didn’t shower after the gig out of pure exhaustion…I went to sleep in that shirt and then I wore it again all day yesterday…today waking up to this news I am truly beside myself…devastated…the last of the greatest living performers…my guitar idol…his connection to ALL his instruments yielded a sexual transcending aura and the world is just less fucking cool without him walking on it… “Electric word life It means forever and that’s a mighty long time But I’m here to tell you There’s something else… The after world” #RIPPRINCE

As part of an emotional tribute, he wrote that Prince was ‘the last of the greatest living performers’.

But Biebs managed to do that thing he does so well and make it all about him, by commenting: ‘Well not the last greatest living performer.’

Justin, this is not the time to be concerned about your own status as a performer, you absolute moron.

You can understand that the statement is a tad unfair on this generation of performers, but did he really think this was the best time to argue with this?

Prince fans were quick to remind Justin that this just isn’t the time to be pissed off and speak out like he has:

It’s probably too late now to say sorry Justin, the damage is already done.
