Katy Perry suffered an embarrassing on-stage hiccup recently during the Nashville leg of her Witness World Tour.
The international pop star was stuck during a mid-air performance this week and had to crowd surf her way out of the predicament.
So far on her Witness World Tour Perry has a moment in the show where she sits atop a foam model of the planet Saturn while she performs an acoustic set for her fans. As this happens she’s moved around the arena so her all those in attendance can catch a glimpse of her.
So far it’s gone without a hitch but at her most recent show in Nashville, Tennessee the planet Saturn stopped moving leaving her stranded in mid-air, above her adoring fans.
While most pop divas would’ve thrown a hissy fit and demanded the show to be cancelled right then and there, Katy Perry proved to be a consummate showman and professional by riffing and joking with her fans about the situation.
The Grammy nominated singer told the crowd:
This is the first time I’ve been stuck in space.
I know I’m kind of a space cadet, but actually, this thing is stuck. What should I do? Should I tell some jokes, should I tell some stories, should I just sing another song? You’d better put your phones up, it’s a YouTube moment!
Eventually the stage handlers lowered the foam planet down to the arena floor and once it got closer the 32-year-old singer hopped off into the safety of her fans and crowd surfed her way back to the stage.
Before taking a leap of faith she told the arena filled with her fans:
I guess I’m just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people.
Despite the stoppage her fans enjoyed the improvised moment, as well as the rest of the show.

However some pop conspiracy theorists are pointing the finger at her friend-turned-bitter-enemy Taylor Swift for having a hand in the breakdown of her stage set.
