Kelly Clarkson has accused her record label of ‘blackmailing’ her into working with the music producer Dr. Luke.

The singer tore into the producer during an interview with the Australian radio station KIIS 1011 FM, Mashable reports.

Clarkson claimed that she had no choice but to work with the man who co-wrote and co-produced one of her biggest hits, Since U Been Gone.

She said:

I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label. They were like, ‘we will not put your album out if you don’t do this’.

Dr. Luke is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Kesha, who claims that Dr Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, sexually assaulted her.

He, however, denies the allegations and says Kesha’s accusations are a ‘vicious smear campaign.’

Clarkson admitted she doesn’t ‘know that situation,’ explaining that Kesha’s ‘experience was different to mine.’

However, Clarkson is extremely comfortable talking about the producer’s character.

She explained:

He’s not a good person, to me. We’ve clashed. He will just lie to people and it makes the artist look bad. He’s kind of difficult to work with, kind of demeaning.

Dr. Luke is yet to comment on the latest accusations.
