Yes, you read that right. The Borat star recently claimed that Liam Gallagher threatened to stab him and, in true Liam style, the former Oasis singer responded with a bombshell.

If you hadn’t already guessed, the protagonist in Sacha Baron Cohen’s most recent film Grimsby is loosely based on the charismatic former Oasis frontman.

And, according to NME, there’s a story to follow.

Speaking on U.S. chat show, Conan, the Ali G star claimed that he once got into an argument with Liam after not telling a joke about him.

He said:

At the afterparty of the GQ awards, Liam is sitting next to Bono on a couch, and I go and sit next to them and Liam looks at me and he goes, ‘You! Who’s the fucking greatest living rock star’. And so I’m sitting next to Bono and Liam Gallagher, so I say – ‘Err I don’t know. Stevie Wonder?’, and then he went ‘Stevie Wonder?! Stevie Wonder is popular. Syphilis is popular.’ So I said, ‘Actually, syphilis isn’t that popular anymore’. And he goes, ‘Shut the fuck up’.

Anyhow, the argument continued, before the controversial singer concluded that John Lennon is the greatest living rockstar and that he is in fact John Lennon – before falling over and banging his head in a drunken daze.

A nervous Sacha was then confronted by Gallagher once again who kicked off before threatening to stab him ‘in the eye,’ apparently.

After the show surfaced, NME approached the Mancunian’s press representatives, who said:

Liam wants to clarify that it wasn’t just the one eye, it was both.

Absolutely brilliant.
