Definitely Maybean?
Liam Gallagher has said he thinks Mr Bean – Rowan Atkinson’s famous comic creation – should play his brother Noel in a film about the life of Oasis.
Liam and Noel’s notoriety as feuding siblings has been well documented since Oasis split up in 2009, with Liam regularly taking to social media to express his ever-entertaining insights.
The unflattering comparison to the character was made during an interview on Absolute Radio, where Liam said that Noel’s ‘annoying’ personality made Mr Bean the perfect choice to play him in a movie.
He said:
Mr. Bean for Noel, because he’s annoying, isn’t he? You just want to punch his f*cking head in and be like, ‘Stop f*cking about mate.’
And the actor to play Liam himself?
The Manc rocker continued:
I don’t wanna go down the sexy hunky route, so none of that Tom Hardy nonsense for me. Rhys Ifans would be good for me.
He’s a bit out there. Rhys and Mr. Bean. There you go.
Rhys Ifans and Atkinson in a fictionalised version of Oasis? Hollywood must surely be calling.
This latest spat comes only a few days after Liam blasted Noel for his questionable use of a pair of scissors during a performance on Later… with Jools Holland.
Viewers were left dumbfounded when they saw a member of Noel’s band slicing thin air down a microphone during their performance of ‘She Taught Me How To Fly.’
Liam was not the only one to comment on the questionable use of stationary as an instrument.
Im afraid not but I do have somebody sharpening a pencil it sounds mega with a bit of reverb on it proper out there gear

Liam, who’s currently touring behind his new album ‘As You Were’, kept up the joke a few days later too, tweeting:
Im looking for somebody to peel some spuds live on stage tnight at this gig in Bethnal Green must have own peeler as you were LG x

Which, incredibly, came to fruition at one of Liam’s gigs at London’s Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club.

Noel, however, seemed happy to acknowledge the ridiculous incident…

It’s not all bitter rivalries between the brothers, though. In a recent interview with Fault magazine, Liam did admit to missing his brother:
I don’t want to be solo. I don’t want to do it on my own. I’m not a guitar player or a prolific songwriter. I can write a few songs every now and again but I miss being in a band. I miss my brother the way he was back then. I miss singing those great songs that we all made great.
Earlier this week Liam revealed that he’d like to get Skepta to support him at his upcoming headline show at Finsbury Park, saying:
It can’t all be 90s stuff, man. We’ve got to mix it up a bit. I’d like to get Skepta playing, have something a bit different.
But perhaps a new utensil-based band could be formed – scissors, peelers and pencil sharpeners anyone?
Never one to shy away from publicity, Liam also made the news this week thanks to his and his family’s appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.
The singer appeared on his sofa alongside his mum Peggy, and son Gene, for the Stand Up To Cancer special.
Alongside his trademark Gallagher wit and some truly emotional scenes, Liam also made this surprising revelation:

Don’t suppose he’ll be driving a Rolls Royce into another swimming pool anytime soon!
