The rapper Lil Pump has announced to his fans that he will be going to jail for ‘a couple of months’.

Lil Pump, real name Gazzy Garcia, said he has violated his recent probation order, after he was found driving without a valid license in Miami last month.

He was pulled over by police after they discovered the 18-year-old driving his Rolls Royce with a license plate that actually belonged to another car. The violation of his probation came just days after being handed it in the first place.

Lil Pump, best known for his song Gucci Gang, addressed his fans on Instagram, saying ‘listen up kids, stay in school, don’t f*ck up like me’.

The 18-year-old also hinted that, despite his run in with the law, he’ll be dropping new music while he’s in prison, saying he has a number of releases lined up already.

His second album, Harvard Dropout, is expected to be released on September 14.

Last month, Lil Pump was arrested for firing a gun inside his Los Angeles home.

According to TMZ, the rapper alleged that three intruders were trying to break in, and he fired a shot to scare them away.

However, after investigating the scene, police found a handgun in the bushes below the balcony of Pump’s apartment, and that the bullet hole in his front door came from inside the room.

Though the weapon in the bushes was unloaded, police found ammunition in the apartment, and concluded that Pump had fired the gun at the door himself, and arrested him for discharging a gun in an inhabited place.

Pump was taken to juvenile detention as he was only 17 at the time. He turned 18 a few weeks later.

Last week, veteran rapper Eminem dropped his new album Kamikaze by surprise. Throughout the album, Slim throws many disses and insults at other rappers.

In the opening track, The Ringer, Eminem calls out Lil Pump, as well as a host of others, for sounding like Lil Wayne.

He raps:

So finger-bang, chicken wang, MGK, Iggy ‘zae / Lil Pump, Lil Xan imitate Lil Wayne / I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name.

Usually, rappers respond to a diss track with their own diss track. However, Lil Pump decided to actually be quite mature about it all.

Commenting underneath Eminem’s Instagram announcement of the album, Pump wrote: ‘Thank you, I deserved that’, followed by a heart emoji.

It could, of course, be a sarcastic comment, and if Pump is going to prison he’ll have plenty of time to pen a rebuttal against Eminem. Coincidentally, Lil Wayne – the person Eminem accuses Pump of ripping off – is well known for releasing music from prison.

Meanwhile, Kamikaze is on track to break a 36-year-old UK chart record, as it could become the rapper’s ninth consecutive number one, beating the current record which he currently holds alongside ABBA and Led Zeppelin, who have eight consecutive number one albums each.
