Mac Miller was renowned for his versatile styles and flows on the microphone. While he did have an eclectic taste in music, at his core, he was a hip-hop purist.
He was also embraced by both old and new school hip-hop fans. His passing leaves a void in the hip-hop community.
Since the announcement of his death the hip-hop community has come out in full force to pay their respects to their fellow contemporary.
Rapper J. Cole wrote:
Rest In Peace to the great soul Mac Miller
He went on to add:
This is a message for anybody in this game that’s going through something.
If you don’t feel right, if you feel you have a substance problem, if you need a ear to vent to.
If you uncomfortable talking to people around you. Please reach out to me.
